Welcome to what I hope will be a successful year for Gaelic Games in our Post Primary schools.

This is my first year as Cathaoirleach and I would like to thank the outgoing Cathaoirleach and Runai Brian Doran and Maura Reid for their work over the years. Of course I would also like to thank Treasurer Kevin Kelly and PRO Declan McInerney for their ongoing work.

I would also like to thank Jim Murphy for organising the fixtures and representing the county on the Leinster Schools Board. I will be working in conjunction with Jim this year. If anybody wishes to contact me during the year about any matter please feel free to do so.

Our fixtures list is a long one and is set to dovetail with Leinster Council fixtures. Of course there are many other sports and extra curricular activities in our schools and it is my aim to ensure that Gaelic Games are kept to the forefront in all our schools.

I wish to thank Co Wicklow VEC for sponsoring our fixtures booklet for the past number of years. We are grateful to former CEO Fiona Hartley, Chairman Michael Lawlor, recently retired Education Officer Martin Philips and all the other involved for their continued support.

I also wish to thank Wicklow Co. Board GAA for their great support and I am confident it will continue during my period as Cathaoirleach. My thanks also to Games Manager Hugh Kenny , his GDA’s and coaches.

A big thank you is due to all the teachers who voluntarily help with coaching and team management. Not all of your teams can win trophies but the contribution of all of you is vital and much appreciated.

I would also like to thank the Principals and Deputy Principal’s in the schools and look forward to their continued cooperation. Finally, I am grateful to the clubs and referees who support us during the year.

May you all have an enjoyable and successful year played in a sporting spirit.

Brian Breen
